I often feel endlessly lucky that I get to use my creative skills on a daily basis to create beautiful memories for all of my couples. As a wedding photographer, I see all sorts of weddings from the extremely lavish & luxurious, to beautiful intimate quiet backyard moments together. No matter the scale of the wedding, the thing that stands out to me most are the joyous, beautiful celebrations…so when the opportunity to photograph my daughter’s wedding presented itself, I was simply elated to capture the joyful celebration of these two! Photographing joy and happiness for all couples has been such an amazing thing for me but witnessing and photographing my daughter and capturing the shear joy and happiness on her face meant the world to me…and in the beautiful Maui, Hawaii as a bonus!!
I actually took these photographs as a side photographer. I was in the wedding and walked my beautiful daughter down the aisle, so you won’t see many ceremony photos (although I did sneak a few in). I am forever grateful to the main photographers, Dmitri and Sandra, who allowed me to photograph my daughter along side them!
My adrenaline from getting to take these photos in such an amazing place of two very special people kept me going without much emotion throughout the day. That is until the adrenaline wore off and as the reception began and things started to calm down, I could not contain my tears. My baby girl is married! She married the man of her dreams and the two of them together are such amazing people. They were tears of joy and happiness for these two beautiful people and their amazing son…my grandson, Henry! This is my first child, my daughter, the one who first made me a momma…and I have never seen her so happy! I have no doubt the love these two share will only grow deeper and deeper!
