Some people are lucky enough to meet their soulmate in high school and Skyelar and Joseph are that lucky couple. Skyelar and Joseph met through a mutual friend in high school and have been together ever since.
THE PROPOSAL
Joseph’s family planned a trip to Pensacola, Florida and Skyelar and Joseph went along for the trip. Unbeknownst to Skyelar, Joseph had other plans for the trip. Skyelar recalls that while entering onto the navy base, Joseph seemed to be upset—so she thought! Joseph was actually about to propose and was simply nervous and desperately trying to keep his secret from Skyelar the entire trip. As the two of them walked up to the beautiful historic Pensacola lighthouse on base, to Skyelar’s surprise, Joseph proposed. As Joseph slipped the ring on Skyelar’s finger, Skyelar said yes.
The beautiful ring Joseph held out is unique for a reason. Joseph and Skyelar had discuss how they wanted something more special and sentimental to them both. Knowing that, Joseph had given Skyelar a ring that had belonged to her great grandmother, and to complete the set the band will be created with diamonds from Joseph’s grandmother’s ring. How sweet and special is that?!
