Greg & Ashly Winter Elopement

Have you ever attended an outside wedding or elopement in the winter? Well I can tell you, Greg and Ashly’s elopement in the country was one of the most charming weddings I have had the pleasure of photographing.

This wonderful couple chose to elope off the beaten path in a snow covered area under a gorgeous alter personally made by Greg. I have photographed many weddings and I feel very connected to each one that I capture, but winter weddings when everything is snow covered adds a kind of charm that is indescribable!

The ceremony took place down a long snowy lane to a perfect spot picked out just for this special occasion. Greg was already at the ceremony site waiting for his lovely bride to walk down the snow covered path. For close family members, bails of hay were set out topped with maroon colored blankets for comfortable seating.  A table was placed nearby; draped with a black tablecloth and a delicious container of hot chocolate sitting atop to keep everyone warm.  There were plenty of delicious marshmallows to add to the hot chocolate as well.

Then it was time! Ashly dressed in her immaculate wedding attire appeared from a distance escorted up the isle by two gentlemen to meet her groom that awaited her under the hand crafted alter dawned with maroon colored flowers and greenery. The ceremony was one of the sweetest ever!!

After the ceremony, we grabbed a few shots of the beautiful couple in the wintery weather scenery that stood about them and a few family shots as well. We then traveled back out of the secluded area where the ceremony took place to the Monroe County Historical Society and captured several photos of the couple around and about the caboose and train car, as well as an old model car that made for some pretty unique photos.

Congratulations to Greg and Ashley for finding that perfect person to share all of your days with! Thank you for having me as a part of your day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!!
